The Spring Series ended on 25th February with all 8 races having been completed. The Laser and Handicap fleets were again dominated by Mark Thomas in the Lasers and father Ceri in his Streaker in the Handicap fleet. Mark finished the Laser series 11 points ahead of the second boat and it was good to see some less familiar names at he front of the fleet demonstrating the benefit of regular turnouts. Competition in the Handicap fleet was much closer with just 3 points covering the leading boats. It was encouraging to see a group of youngsters in Toppers putting in regular attendances and learning to cope with all that Westbere could throw at them. Special mention should go to Ralph Hadley who finished 2nd and was also awarded the Barton Marine Rising Star of 2024.
